FYI & Common Questions
Straight answers to the usual stuff. Prefer these before opening a ticket — or ask the help assistant below.
What is Shorterest?
Shorterest is a culture and opinion site. We publish short editorial pieces on culture, media, work, and power — dual perspectives when a topic deserves them.
Do you use AI to write articles?
We use AI tooling as production infrastructure (drafting, scoring, illustrations). Editorial judgment, topic selection, and standards remain human-directed. See /ai-disclosure for the full policy.
How do I request a correction?
Use the contact form and include the article title or URL, the issue, and a preferred contact email. We review corrections promptly.
How do I subscribe?
Use the subscribe form on the homepage or footer. Confirm via the email link we send. You can unsubscribe any time from the link in our mail.
Why do I see ads?
Ads help fund the publication. We do not sell your contact-form data to advertisers. See the Privacy page for details.
Who are the authors?
Pieces carry bylines with a short bio at the end of each article. Authors are editorial personas on the roster; bios stay consistent article to article.
Can I talk to a human?
Yes. Try the help assistant first. If you still need a person, say so (e.g. “I need a human”) and enter your email in the form. We pass your message and email to the team so they can write you back — we do not publish staff email addresses in chat.
Partnerships, press, or legal?
Use the contact form with “Partnership”, “Press”, or “Legal” in the subject line of your message. We route those to the right person.
Help assistant
Super basic. Answers from the FAQ above. If you want a human, say so and enter your email — we send the chat to the team so they can contact you. Staff addresses are never shown here.
Still stuck? Contact form (also uses your email only).
